Our Annual Rainbow Run 5K & 1-Mile Walk for Wellness & Equality
Our annual Rainbow Run is a race for members and nonmembers that takes place on the Sunday of the American Counseling Association national conference in the conference host city. A portion of the proceeds are donated to a local organization that serves LGBTGEQIAP+ people within that region.
Spend some fun with SAIGE members and leaders, give back to our communities, and support Queer & Trans advocacy, counseling, and mental health awareness! Anyone from the public can attend, including American Counseling Association (ACA) Conference goers and non-members!
Run. Walk. Bike. Hike. Sashay! All for a great cause!
2020 VIRTUAL Rainbow Run
With the emergence of coronavirus and the shutdown of the national conference, we will be moving our race to virtual!
Our race location is:
- Wherever you are!!
Tickets can be purchased:
- Online Registration until April 19th (12AM) through Eventbrite.

Since our race is virtual this year, this means that, wherever, you are, you can register for the event, follow our livestream event, and run, walk, bike, hike, or sashay right near your own home!
Connect with us, get some activity in, and support a GREAT organization. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the local non-profit LGBTQ organization The North County LGBTQ Resource Center (see below)!
Participants who register will still receive a medal and we will host a livestream of our race director running a 5K in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as a livestream of our 1k walk! We would like participants to post with a hashtag (#2020VirtualRainbowRun), on Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter.
Race Day Schedule:
- 7:20AM: Our race director will start livestreaming the 5k! We will have someone livestream the walk as well!

Want to Donate or Become a Sponsor for Rainbow Run?
ALGBTIC cannot cover the cost of this race alone – we need individuals, ACA divisions and other organizations to partner with us so that we can support Queer & Trans teens and young adults find a safe, secure, and professional environment that provides quality services to deal with issues such as homelessness, drug abuse, mental health issues, and to help these teens find the comfort and support they need to lead healthy lives. Below are the various sponsorship levels for this year’s race. We recognize that each organization has different fiscal resources, so whatever way your organization can help is GREATLY appreciated. Each level of sponsorship has benefits to the donor and donor organization!
